Inglewood Gorse Site Oct and Nov 2010

Tuesday 2 November 2010

The first part of the work was to pile previous Gorse slash on a truck to remove it from the site.   Quite an amount has been moved to the side of the Inglewood fire break for further removal.  After that work continued on cutting and painting with herbicide the old Gorse bushes remaining.  The forecast showers finally arrived forcing us to abandon work about 30 minutes early.

Moving Gorse for trucking away

Tuesday 5 October

Fine weather.  Knocked off about half (or more?) of what was left of that stand and hopefully we should completely finish it next time, although I’ve been told there are some there that will definitely require a chainsaw.  Apart from the gorse there were a few straggly blackberries, a cotoneaster and a holly.  Newcomers all got stuck into it. (report by Mike)
